What's your average cost of design per hour?

I know there's a possibility of each graphics designer having a different price card for their jobs because of how each works quality affects the price. But if there's a way to look at what you're going to charging per hour for your work, what's going to be the cost?

What I know is that the median hourly rate for graphic designers work is set at $25 per hour. On some freelance website, they can range from $15 to $35 per hour.

I charge $25 per hour and that's what I charged back in the 90s as well. My fee hasn't increased because I think that in these economic times that people really need a break. I still put in more than what they pay!

When I started, I was charging around 8 dollars per hour because I was trying to get more clients to patronise my services. However, my rate card has now increased to 30 dollars per house as a result of my ability to do the work better.

24 dollars and above seems like the right price to charge. Anyone charging less than such an amount may end up not doing so in the long run. So, I wouldn't expect any client to complain.

Most clients would become calculative of the hours it will take you to finish a design and would want to limit it. But if it is per job, there would be none of that, just get paid at once and deliver.

I've thought about this several times and I came up with the assessment that it depends on the kind of job you're getting to work. Some jobs will take more hours for you to complete it and if you charge by the hour, it means more pay.

The more you become an authority in your work, then more you can charge higher and your clients will gladly pay without nagging about it or start looking for an alternative because they know the quality of what you're going to deliver.

It is not that bad as long as you get to do some jobs personally. I will say that it is pretty important that one take a look at how good that they are and also the type of graphic work that they aim to do as well.

If you are only currently working on smaller projects, it is not going to be feasible for you to charge by the hour because whatever you're working on is not going to take much time for you to charge using that rate. It is why I think it's better to charge per job.

You are not doing bad with charging per job. It is still fair since you are doing the works based on the orders which you can readily accept at a particular point in time.

Under normal circumstances, this price should have been increased by now because of how things are but some of us are still very considerate with our pricing for graphics design jobs.

I have seen some people who are charging way more than $50 per hour. I question if they are getting enough clients with their high cost of services.
