As a student, do you use books related to graphics to understand the concepts and basics? Which title helped you?

I don't use book to understand any concepts or basics. I prefer the video tutorials because it's already a practical work. Reading books on graphics is very good, that's the theoretical part but coming in touch with the practical aspects is the best.

I guess the days of books are over. But there are many titles that are still going great. Perhaps people like them as ebooks now.

I still read books because I love reading them but it's not what I read in the aspect of graphics designing. Books might be helpful for the basics in graphics designing but since things keeps changing often, it won't be updated. It's why I don't put any efforts in reading books for graphics design.

Books are still very relevance because you can still learn a few things from it and be able to put it into practical. It's why I still devote time to reading any good book I can find on the subject.

Book will only give you an insight but that will be theoretically. Doing a practical work depends on the video or someone you are learning from.

Ebooks are still a thing. You get to learn more as long as you can have a book that you will use as a reference when you are having a challenge with your design works.

They are getting phased out as we speak. I don't consider them to be a thing at all. I mean, there is no point trying to paint it as something that you can readily use as a foundation to learn about new trends in graphics designing.

Nope, I never used books to learn when I started acquiring knowledge on graphics designing. It would have been too tedious for me to be reading books on how to design a flyer or logo when I can watch a video of how it's done.

Video tutorials are always good for newbies. You get to learn the basics along the line and it can help one become really good since you can easily learn by watching some of those videos. Learning through books are good, but not as great as when you learn via videos.

I can't think of any single book which I could have read when I was learning about graphics design that's going to be of much help to me. It was why I never cared about any of them and focused more on video materials.

There isn't any specific book that is based on graphic design which I would consider to be something that was very instrumental in learning and acquiring the skill as a graphic designer. Most of the tools that I used to learn from were video contents from YouTube channels.

You understand my points. It will be easier for a pro to read books and understand what is needed to be done. Videos are much better than books due to the practical terms.

Yes! It's possible for you to learn from reading of books but it's going to take you a very long time. The time it's going to take you to learn from books might be 6x more than how long it's gonna take you to learn from watching videos.

Why stressing yourself and lavishing the time you needed to use video tutorials for your best interest. You can learn from books but it's not advisable for a newbies.
