Is it hard to be a freelancer

[Dilip]

What is your experience? Do you feel that being part of a firm helps you gain more? Is freelancing giving away too much?

[Walter]

It's not hard to be a freelancer if you have a good skill which you can sell online as your service. Without a good skill, it's very difficult being a freelancer.

[Tyler]

Every route you take in order to make money is always very difficult which is what makes it worthwhile. Being a freelancer is not something that is easy otherwise everybody is going to be in that field.

This is very true because when something becomes very easy, it means that there is no much benefit in it and almost everyone will be doing it which is going to make it very common.

You can be on contract as a freelancer for a company!! I used to do that ages ago and they kept having me come back so often that I was practically there full time! As with most jobs, you need to network, that's how I got into freelance in the first place. I knew a guy.

[Andrew]

The most difficult part of being a freelancer is that you will have to struggle with a lot of competition in the field which makes it difficult for you to secure jobs easily.

For those who are into it, I would say that it might not be too difficult for them because they will find a way to make it work for them all the time.

[Jose]

I've been working as a freelancer on a part time. It's not an easy job. If anyone tells you that it's easy, they are not telling you the truth. Don't believe them.

[Kyle]

Being a freelancer is not easy because you don't have any guarantees that you will keep getting work constantly in order for you to make money and be able to take care of your responsibilities.

[Henry]

Starting off as a freelancer is never easy, I mean, you can go weeks without getting a tangible job. This is where being part of a firm helps. However, in the long run, it is rewarding to be a freelancer once you know what you are doing.

That is the difficult side of it. A freelancer will definitely have to dig more before they can always get work consistently. This is why it is good to keep contact with new customers should a new order come up.

[Shortie]

Starting as a freelancer is always difficult, you are new, no one knows you and no one has seen your work and it takes for someone to have faith in you and give you a chance before things start to get easier as a freelancer.

I find that as a freelancer myself, taking orders from those who are willing to give me a chance, creating my best work and delivering promptly has helped me gain leads and regular work.

It takes time but the time and hard work always pays off.

It is definitely going to take time before one can succeed as a freelancer, but it is always worth it at the end of the day. I have always let anyone who wants to become a freelancer understand that becoming one is never as easy as anyone would think.

I mean you can go weeks without getting a job order for the work that you do.

[Heatman]

Being a freelancer is not easy because from my experience, I know how difficult it is for you too secure jobs constantly in order for you to survive in the industry. A lot of people have tried to become freelancers but realized that it is not something you can easily become successful in.

I will always say that it is easier for those outside the industry to assume that it is rosy and fun. The truth is that it is not the way that they claim. You will have to work tirelessly to prove that you are cut out for any job that you end up doing.

[Jeremy]

Getting started as a freelancer is easy, but building a steady income is the hard part. It takes patience, consistency, and finding reliable clients to succeed long-term.

[Alexis]

It is indeed hard, there is no way you can compare it to working and getting paid wages or salary. Your income depends on how you are able to get clients which might not be constant as you would love it to be.

[Nathan]

There are so many freelancers out there who never got any jobs to work on for more than 5 months. How do you think life deals with them?

[Brandon]

The only difficulty in the life of a freelancer right now is high competition. A lot of people have keyed into the project, thereby making it very difficult to have a sustained job coming for you always.
