If you work professionally in the graphics field, what advice would you give to someone new?

Some of us here at Design Forums are more than likely dabbling in graphics professionally but some of us are starting out for the first time, very much new to graphics.

As someone who has been in this field for a while, what advice would you give to someone starting out?

Don't push yourselves too much. Start slow, learn, adapt and try to learn things you don't know.

Slow pace is bad in today's industry, so make sure that you keep up once you got the grip.

Start from the root, don't jump fence to bigger design. Start and learn slowly, try and experiment new things by yourself.

Don't be in a hurry to start making huge money, try and be creative in your own way.

I think everyone is trying to make big money from day one. That's only going cause difficulties.

Thank you. Any beginner who starts thinking about how much to make or how to make more money won't go far in designing.

That's because they after money without a valid skill.

Being in a haste to make money as a graphic designer without learning every details about how you're supposed to work is going to be very detrimental to your progress.

This is the reason why I'm going to advice someone who is new in graphic designing to pay more attention in learning first than the desire to make money quickly.

Perfect your craft and the money will surely start rolling in. But do not be so desperate to make money at first, it rarely ends well.

Don't take too much job at once because you are looking at making a lot of money from those jobs. It is going to put a lot of pressure on you that would make you not been able to deliver on the jobs which is going to affect your credibility.

I would advise someone who started new as a graphic designer to focus on a specific area and become very good at it.

Once you have become an expert in a particular field, you can now decide to branch out to so many order options.

In my opinion, the best tip I would give a beginner in graphics designing is to keep practicing. There's no ending to the learning process of graphics design. It never ends.
