I know the question depends on the type of design you are asked to do. There are some designs that take can be completed in a short time while some take longer to complete.

But on an average, how much time do you spend on a design?

You're right, it depends on the type of design I'm working on currently. I've worked on some jobs which took more than 6 hours before I was able to complete and deliver it.

Every design have its own time to be completed. There are some designs I worked and spent mostly 6 or 7 hours while some didn't last up to 3 hours.

True. It's not the amount of time used to design a logo that's going to be to design a banner or any other complex jobs. Whatever you're working on is what will determine how long that's going to take.

Yeah and it depends on how skillful you are too. If you are too dull, it can take as much time from you than when you are so fast and skillful.

In view of that there are even jobs that will take you days to complete. That is just how dynamic freelancing is.

Yeah, that's very correct. I've worked on a particular project that took me about 9 days before I was able to complete the job but it was actually worth it because I charged a good amount of money for it.

That is just the point. The more complex and time consuming it is the higher the pay. I would not expect to earn much from a job that took me a few hours.

The max I've ever received from a job I has completed in 3 hours was $80. It was a good pay if you ask me because it's like being paid $20 per hour job.

Oh this is actually a good payment for the time you spent. The challenge is just that it is not always you get that kind of gig. It might come just a few times in a month.

Yes, it's the biggest challenge most freelancer face everyday in the course of their jobs. If such jobs comes up very often, we wouldn't have any thing to worry about when it comes to making money.

It does not at all. If you know for sure that these gigs will be coming frequently that is amazing. But it does not to be honest.

The intense competition in the industry is what is making it more critical when it comes to getting more jobs. There are so many people that wants to work but they are less job offers available to work on.

Yes it seems the niche is getting saturated gradually. The ones that need designers know this that is why they offer low prices.

The longest I've spend on a specific graphics design project was 48 hours. It was the first time in my worked on an animated project. It's a very difficult job for me the first time.

There have been jobs that took me weeks to complete. Not that I'm not working on them but because it came so difficult and I really need to sleep on it to get a better result.

Most of the average design jobs I've worked on only took me 3 hours to complete them. They are simple jobs and I've been in the field for so long. I'm very good at my job.

This is what happens when you have become a master in your work already. When you first started out you will use more time than now that you are a professional.

Constantly practising is the key when it comes to being very good at what you are doing as a graphic designer.

This is going to make it very easy for you to be excellent in completing jobs as quickly as possible.

This is spot on. The more designers work and hone their skills the better they become. They should also learn to be updated with the movements of the design world and not be stagnant.
