How long did it take you to learn graphics designing?

When you started learning how to become a graphic designer, how long did it take you to learn all the basis and improve on what you have been taught?

When you are practicing, how good are you with the job you are doing on your own after you have been taught?

It took me a long time. I did some basic drawing by default. Tools take time, you need to know the shortcuts and options. It will take a some time to know it the right way.

I found out that learning how to become very good in graphic designing is something that you can never rush. It took me a very long time before I was able to master the skill and I am reaping the benefits now.

Anyone who wants to learn anything when it comes to graphic designing will have to be very patient or the person will never truly master it and become a pro.

As the saying goes " you can't be perfect till you are perfect". It took me a long time though I am not yet a professional but I am trying. Consistent and persistent is the key in learning anything in this life

I spent 6 weeks in a Photoshop class (each class was 90 minutes), however, due to lack of enough practice I was not able to master photoshop skills. Therefore, I moved to drag and drop tool Canva. I have been using Canva for many years but I am still a beginner.

Canva is good, but the truth is that it is not going to give you the needed foundation as a graphics designer. Have you made any efforts to improve on using other tools to run your design works?

Well I am still learning for the past three weeks. I can’t say I am well along yet, but I am no longer a total novice. Perhaps it will take me another six weeks to be able to call myself a graphics designer.

I'm also still learning. Feels like it will be a long time before I get anywhere close to being considered a graphic designer.

Yeah, I have only learned the basics of a few tools so far but it's already much more than what I knew before.

A lot of practice makes you better in whatever you're trying to learn in graphics designing. This is why I have to agree with on having to draw a lot as one of the best things that's going to help you learn and become indispensable.

Canva made it a bit easier for me when I started out in learning graphics designing. I know it's not everything that I could possibly learn with Canva but it assisted me a lot. Within 2 to 3 years, I've mastered almost everything I can do with Canva.

A lot of practice makes you better in whatever you're trying to learn in graphics designing. This is why I have to agree with on having to draw a lot as one of the best things that's going to help you learn and become indispensable.

Drawing is one of the best way to learn easily and faster. Even though I seems so tired when I was a beginner but it didn't stop me to continue. I'm not an expert but I can design to my own ability.

If I'm giving like a general time frame it took for me to learn most of the things I needed to in graphics designing, it should have taken me about 6 to 8 months to have average knowledge of how to do it well. Do you think I'm a fast or slow learner?

It depends on how constant you are practicing because I believe that more in you invest more time into your practicing is the more you are likely going to start seeing yourself as a renowned graphic designer.

I never stop learning as far as I'm concerned. There's a new knowledge to acquire and use to upgrade what I already know. Practice makes perfection and I believe that in graphics design. It makes me to never stop learning.

And as one is learning, there's an upgrade both in the designing tools and also in the character of the designer because things will be changing.
