Freelancing or contract role?

Yeah, there will be issues which we all know but being transparent and communicating on what you want, will brings mutual understanding for the two parties.

Having working issues with my clients hurts me badly. I will do anything within my power to avoid it. It tanks on my confidence too much.

You need to understand that no client lasts forever. The way you got them you can always get another. There are some clients that are just horrible.

I know that very well but what can I do but not feel bad whenever I lose a client who used to pay me very well? I'm not supposed to be happy about it.

The problem is that most of the contract jobs do not give free time for designers to pursue side projects and jobs. They will want to have you to themselves.

Yeah, that’s one of the downsides of many contract roles. Some companies expect your full focus, which leaves little to no time to work on personal projects or other side gigs.

Is it not possible to work as a freelancer and also on contract with some clients or companies at the same time?
