Awesome! Canva making it clear that they want to become a big player in the industry. Such acquisition will give more options to their users and the need not to try elsewhere.

Affinity brought the competition that was needed, and I am sure that many smart graphics designers must have decided to give them a try when that happened. Getting 50 % off is not what you see everyday.

Finding the right font for the work can be difficult for newbies. I guess being able to get the right one to use comes with having a good experience over a period of time.

In all of these, I am still of the opinion that digital printing is more easier and not as challenging as printing media. The difference is wide clear.

Having the options to print colored or black and white is very good. I can say that your printer is simply doing the work which they bought it for and it is good.

They are getting phased out as we speak. I don't consider them to be a thing at all. I mean, there is no point trying to paint it as something that you can readily use as a foundation to learn about new trends in graphics designing.

I don't have the finances to go to an art school. I know that I would have learnt a lot assuming I was able to attend one.

You can't compare Canva to Photoshop unless you are simply talking about which one newbies can happily use, which, in my opinion, is Canva.

Yes, this is a big challenge. To focus more on staying up to date is never easy. I have used social media platforms to help me achieve that.

You are not doing bad with charging per job. It is still fair since you are doing the works based on the orders which you can readily accept at a particular point in time.

I guess that is the reason my mentor is always focused on making use of GIMP for most of the photo manipulation that she does.

This is the right mindset. Getting jobs that are good and feels good to complete is the best way to go about it. I wouldn't want to take up jobs when I have doubts on completing such orders.
