Outsourcing graphics design jobs is very common in this industry because there might be so many reasons why you can't be able to meet up with delivering a job. Having the job given out to a 3rd party who will work on it and deliver to you for you to now deliver to your client helps many freelancers get by.

Have you ever outsourced any of your jobs?

I have done that with one of my friend. He's someone that can help out when I am hands on with plenty projects and I can help out too when he has plenty on his hands too.

People only outsource when they have a lot on their plate. I don't have much to do, so I don't see the need to give my jobs out to others. Maybe when I start getting more deals.

There was a time I was so busy, and I have a few design works on my hands. I did not want to disappoint the clients, so I had to outsource them to trusted pals. I do not do it often though.

Outsourcing of design works isn't a bad thing. There are people that are greedy and giving out works to their friends isn't easy because of the money there and the worse part is that they won't hit the deadline.

There are times when I don’t really get what the client wants. Also it might be that I have a lot on my hands, so I just call a fellow trusted designer to carry out the project.

Fortunately I've never found myself in a station whereby I have to outsource my job to another graphic designer to help me out. This is because I normally have the time and schedule management to take care of everything on my own.

I have this principle of never accepting any job that I'm not going to have the time to do by myself. It is the reason why I've never had the experience of outsourcing any job to anyone.

This is a very smart move. It's better to do it yourself than give out. If the person the job is outsourced to ruins the job, your own reputation is what will be tarnished because you can't tell your client the job was outsourced.

I'm working full time as a graphics designer. I don't have any interest in giving my job to another person who's going to cut some percentage of my payment. It's the only I job I do now. I work on everything myself.

It's the best thing to do because if you did the job by yourself, it's going fall short of your client's expectation which will get you a bad review and lose the client too.

If after accepting a job offer, something came up that will not give me the time to work on the project, I can outsource it to someone else, this is so I don't disappoint my client.

This works for some people, it’s just that it can be hard to find someone that will do the job the way you want it. It will eventually e as if you did the work yourself with many corrections.

Outsourcing a job to someone whom you can't trust 100% is a very big risk. If the 3rd party doesn't do a good job, you're going redo everything which is like wasting of time and money.

How messed up will that be? That is why it is great to have a partner that is just as good as you and you can really trust the person to execute the task well.

Indeed it’s a big risk. I guess that is why some people have a team that they have trained to carry out the tasks. So they make sure that everyone in the team is qualified.

I would only be interested in outsourcing some of my jobs if I am getting too many jobs that I wouldn't have the time to deliver all of them before deadline.

Of course that is a reason freelancers outsource jobs to others. The problem though may be to determine if the person you outsource to can do the job well.

I have actually outsourced a few of the jobs that I have simply because I don't have the time to complete them. Also, some of them are too complex for me to do a good job on them but I had to accept it to take a percentage on the work because I know who is going to do it better than me.

I guess it was a great experience as they did the job well? That is the only challenge anyone would have with having to outsource jobs as the other person might end up not doing a great job.
