We all started from somewhere no matter what we do. As graphics designers, you have those designs that you made when you just started out.
When you look back on those designs, how do you feel?
I can't say much but looking back at those early designs brings a mix of feelings. Almost all of them look rough but they remind me of how far I've come, how much I've grown and how the old tools have helped me so far.
Those designs are not perfect but they are there to show the proof of progress.
I was super excited to be very honest with you. I never know I had it in me, although I put in the effort in learning for solid 7 months. I'll never forget the way I felt that day working on my first logo.
Rome wasn't built in a day. This is why whenever I look back to how I started, I would appreciate all I've been able to do over the years. Now, I've been getting better and better every day.
I was very proud of myself because I proved so many people wrong. I faced so much challenges when I decide to work as a freelancer graphic designer and many looked down on me but I came out a winner.
Looking back, I can’t help but laugh a little because some of those designs were really rough. But honestly, I also feel proud because they remind me where I started and how much I’ve improved over time.
It's not a big deal to feel that way about your first design because you're still in the learning stage. The more you practice is the more you get better.
My first graphic design job wasn't something big. It was just a fancy logo project which I did excellent on. It was the first of many great jobs I worked and delivered on.
