I used GIMP too but as a result of the limited features that you have on it, I had to upgrade to making use of Adobe Photoshop. It have been a very smart move that I made so far.

I prefer using CMYK profile by default because it gives me better room for an excellent job. GRACoL have been my recommended profile for images.

There are so many rolls for this graphics design print but my favourite one's are; Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, CorelDRAW, and Affinity Designer.
